DAILY GALIPOLI FROM ISTANBUL
About This Experience
Overview
As you travel along the European coast toward the peninsula of Gallipoli, meet your guide at your hotel in Istanbul and take in the sights of the Sea of Marmara. Visit the memorial gardens on the grounds after visiting the Kabatepe Information Center and Museum to exhibit the clothing, weapons, and letters that soldiers carried into war during World War I.
Discover the individual histories of the Ottoman and Allied sides, as well as the reasons why some people refer to the battle of Gallipoli as a "Gentlemen's War." Visit the Nek and Johnston's Jolly, then look for the defensive trenches that still extend along the peninsula as you pay your respects to the dead warriors at the Lone Pine Australian War Memorial and cemetery and the Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial.
